Ticket
Options
Your table mountain visit starts with selecting the correct access window. Weather patterns and seasonal winds define the schedule; we help you navigate the categories to ensure a successful ascent to the 1,087-meter summit.
Essential Tiers
Effective May 2026. All tickets are subject to weather conditions and cableway operational status.
Morning Pass
The preferred choice for clarity. The morning window offers the coolest temperatures and the highest probability of avoiding the "tablecloth" cloud cover that often forms later in the day.
Afternoon Pass
Ideal for sunset photography and those escaping the midday heat. Rates are often more competitive, though visibility can vary as sea breezes push clouds over the plateau.
Fast Track
Bypass the primary boarding queue entirely. Highly recommended during the peak December to February window when wait times at the lower station can exceed 90 minutes.
The One-Way
Descent
Specifically designed for adventurers tackling the Platteklip Gorge or India Venster routes. Why compromise your joints on a steep downhill return?
- Purchase at the Upper Cable Station after your hike.
- Subject to immediate wind-speed closure protocols.
- Last car times vary seasonally (approx. 17:00-18:00).
Operational Continuity
The Cableway is a mechanical system operating in a high-wind environment. Understanding the refund and delay protocols is essential for your planning.
7-Day Validity
Weather is unpredictable. Most tickets remain valid for seven consecutive days from the date selected at purchase. If high winds or the "tablecloth" prevents your table mountain visit on day one, you have six more windows of opportunity without re-booking.
Refund Protocols
Refunds are processed only if the Cableway remains closed for your entire seven-day validity period. If you purchased through us and the mountain was inaccessible for the duration of your stay, contact our team to initiate the verification process.
Family Access
Children under the age of four travel for free. We recommend morning slots for families to avoid the intense ultraviolet glare and wind spikes that often occur in the late afternoon.
Annual Maintenance
The system undergoes deep safety inspections annually, usually in late July or early August. During this two-week window, tickets are unavailable and no transport is provided. Always check our Planning Page for specific dates.
Secure Your
Placement
"Buying in advance does not leapfrog the boarding line, but it removes the overhead of the physical ticket office queue—which often adds 60 minutes to your excursion before you even reach the cable car."
